We’ve been following Suicide Squad Isekai, the anime of Suicide Squad, for some time now. Even if the video game hasn’t performed very well, it seems that Warner Bros. has faith in the group. That’s why, when they finally announced the release date, we felt we had to come running to tell you.
Suicide Squad Isekai will premiere worldwide on Friday, July 5th. Among the streaming platforms where it’ll be available are Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, and Google TV, though only in Japan. At a later date, Warner Bros. will clarify which services will be airing the series to the rest of the world.
This news arrives accompanied by a brand-new trailer. In it, we can see that there’ll be events both in the DC universe and in the fantasy world where our beloved antiheroes will be transported, with a group comprising Harley Quinn, The Joker, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface, King Shark, Katana, and Rick Flag. The trailer shows that the characters have 72 hours to complete their mission. If they fail or exceed the time limit, the collars around their necks will explode, and that’s not good!
Although we’ll have to wait for the series premiere to know more details, everything points to this anime being, at long last, a truly good adaptation of The Suicide Squad. To find out, we’ll have to wait till July 5th, and we’re counting down the days.
