Wit Studio, known for its outstanding work on the popular series ‘Spy x Family’ and the remake of ‘One Piece’, continues its collaboration with Netflix by presenting ‘Love Through a Prism’, which will premiere on January 15. This new anime series, set in early 20th century London, follows the story of Lili Ichijoin, a young Japanese woman with artistic dreams who enters a prestigious art school, challenging the expectations placed on her by her parents.

Impossible Romances

The plot, adapted from an original story by Yoko Kamio, an author also known for ‘Boys Over Flowers’, presents a complicated romance between Lili and Kit Church, a talented young man who becomes her biggest competition. As both develop a competitiveness, an emotional connection arises that promises to captivate viewers. The project is directed by Kazuto Nakazawa, known for his work on the anime sequences of ‘Kill Bill: Volume 1’, suggesting careful attention to detail and a unique artistic vision for this series.

‘Love Through a Prism’ will feature 20 episodes, and while outstanding animation quality is expected, there are concerns about the promotion of the title, given that its predecessor, ‘Moonrise’, went unnoticed after its release due to Netflix’s marketing strategy. Despite the potential of this production, the challenge will be to ensure it receives the necessary visibility to reach its target audience and not be relegated in the vast catalog of the platform.

With the first trailer of ‘Love Through a Prism’ now available, anime fans are looking forward to enjoying a rich narrative and charming visual style, as well as Wit Studio’s proposal securing a prominent place in the anime scene in 2026.

Warner Bros shows a first teaser with all the characters of the anime Suicide Squad Isekai

Warner Bros shows a first teaser with all the characters of the Suicide Squad Isekai anime, in a trailer that gives us very long teeth

In Japan, no story is beyond the limits of what can be told. As long as it has an interesting twist or a target audience, everything has the potential to get the green light. No matter how niche it seems. How absurd it craves. In Japan they understand that there are no bad stories: just bad ways to tell them. So it should come as no surprise that Suicide Squad Isekai, the anime that introduces The Suicide Squad into a fantasy world, is still going strong. And that it looks better than ever.

Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio have shown the new trailer for Suicide Squad Isekai. Along with the opening song, the main casting of the Japanese version and English subtitles to appreciate everything in conditions. Something that shows their interest in reaching an audience beyond Japanese.

The premise of the series, on the other hand, couldn’t be more interesting. Amanda Waller, the head of A.R.G.U.S., has assembled the world’s most successful group of criminals. Harley Quinn, Deadshot, Peacemaker, Clayface and King Shark. What for? To take on a mission that is impossible for normal people. To go through a portal to another world to accomplish an impossible mission. Which if they avoid, will set off an explosive connected to their necks, which will leave them headless and lifeless.

Directed by Eri Osada, director of Jujutsu Kaisen, and scripted by Tappei Nagatsuki and Eiji Umehara, involved in Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World-, the anime has the potential to be one of those series that attract attention for being crazy, fun and very, very interesting. Along with the trailer, they have confirmed that the opening is called Another World, and is composed by Tomoyasu Hotei, a musician that in the West we know for appearing in the soundtracks of Disgust and Fear in Las Vegas and Kill Bill.

Suicide Squad is scheduled to premiere worldwide sometime in 2024. And while it doesn’t have a concrete release date yet, we’ll tell you when we know, because we’re the first ones to be interested.

SPYxFAMILY returns with a spectacular trailer to motivate us ahead of the release of its second season

SPYxFAMILY, one of the most celebrated anime of recent years, returns with a trailer that makes us eager for its imminent premiere.

If television has shown us anything, it’s that the old cinephile adage that “sequels were never good” was never true. The number of series that truly take off in their second season, or that deliver an excellent second season after a very good first season, is greater than those that falter after doing well the first time. That’s why each new season of a series, whether live-action or, as in this case, anime, is usually a cause for celebration.

SPYxFAMILY returns on October 7th with its second season, and to celebrate, they have released a new trailer. Packed with family interactions, a date between Loid and Yor, and a glimpse at various episodes that hint at a broader plot to come, the trailer promises an even more intense season than the first, if that was even possible.

In terms of the specifics, there’s little to worry about. Kazuhiro Furahashi, Takahiro Harada, and Kazuaki Shimada are returning as director, assistant director, and character designer, respectively. The animation studios responsible for the show remain a collaboration between Wit Studio and CloverWorks, so we shouldn’t notice any difference in the quality of the anime or its direction and consistency. So, there’s nothing to worry about; everything is in its place.

What has changed is the opening and ending for each episode. This time, Ado will be handling the opening with her song “Kurakura,” and Vaundy with “Cory Wong” for the ending with the much more calm and silky “Todome no Ichigeki” to close out the episodes. It’s a perfect way to kick off this second season, which, even if it seemed impossible, looks even better than the first.

In Spain, you can watch SPYxFAMILY on Crunchyroll. However, at the time of this news publication, Crunchyroll has not officially announced the release date for the second season.

Anime Spectacular: Brace Yourself for the Mind-Bending Debut of This Iconic Superhero Team’s Animated Series

Warner Bros is still trying to find the superhero key, now teaming up with Wit to make the anime of a famous group of superheroes.

Warner Bros. still hasn’t managed to make superhero movies outside Batman and Superman work for them. No matter how hard they try, they still can’t find the alchemic formula that Disney found with the MCU, and at this point, even Disney seems to have lost that magic touch. That doesn’t stop them from continuing to try and, starting from the characters that have managed to succeed within their more modest canons, they are looking for a way to break the mold. For example, by making an anime of The Suicide Squad.

At the recent Anime Expo 2023, which was held last weekend in Los Angeles, Warner Bros. Japan and Wit Studio, the animation studio behind the popular Spy x Family series, announced an anime series called Suicide Squad Isekai. While they haven’t given a release date or synopsis, they did show a brief trailer that, along with its title, explains everything we need to know. What is an isekai.

It is possible that at this point you are wondering what an isekai is. And it is normal. In Japan, the isekai genre is one in which a person, upon death, is transported to a world different from their own. This has usually been translated as a person from our world who ends up immersed in a fantasy world, but that has been changing little by little to end up imagining all kinds of scenarios. From people from fantasy worlds who end up in our world or other fantasy worlds, people who end up reincarnated as animals, monsters or things, or any other combination of concepts you can imagine. In this case, it seems, the approach is more classic and the Suicide Squad end up in a fantasy world, as implied in the trailer, where we see the Joker and Harlequinn facing dragons and a group of pig men with bloody spears.

While it’s only forty-eight seconds of trailer, this is enough to pique our curiosity. The last thing we imagined was a Suicide Squad isekai. How they will approach it is a mystery, but what is clear is that we can expect a lot of fantasy and a lot of craziness from this. Exactly what we want from an isekai.
