Hollywood has already gotten over its anger with Will Smith and he will star in a new million-dollar action thriller

Do you remember the reactions when Will Smith got up in the middle of the Oscars to slap Chris Rock? Do you remember the reactions when Will Smith stood up in the middle of the Oscars to slap Chris Rock? How everyone condemned him, claiming that something like that could not be allowed and that Smith was banned from Hollywood forever? Well, everyone forgot about it when they saw that the latest installment of Bad Boys managed to rake in over 400 million dollars at the box office. Money always speaks louder than any slight.

It’s a legend

David Gordon Green, director (or rather perpetrator) of the new Halloween installments, will be in charge of directing Smith in a movie called, in an incredibly 90s way, Supermax. The curious thing is that, even before filming, Amazon MGM has bought the rights for 70 million dollars and has decided that it will not be released in theaters, but directly on Prime Video. Confidence, yes, but little.

Supermax, which will begin filming in the summer, will be, according to reports, an action thriller full of twists about two FBI agents investigating a murder that has taken place in the world’s most secure prison. The typical secure prison full of murders, of course. Supposedly, if all goes well, we will see it next year, although more than the movie, there will be talk about Smith’s ability to attract audiences: Will he remain infallible or is he doomed to direct-to-streaming movies from now on?

There is only one thing that is clear: it doesn’t seem like the Oscars are going to call him to return to the gala for many years… and Supermax is not going to change that. Things that happen when you slap people for no reason.
