The Persona saga is experiencing one of its brightest moments, solidifying Persona 5 as a cultural phenomenon in recent years. With the success of recent remakes like Persona 3 Reload, the demand from fans to revive classics from the series has intensified, and all signs point to a remake of Persona 4 being one of Atlus’s next big reveals.
The game has not been officially announced at the moment
Persona 4, originally released in 2008 for PS2 and reissued as Persona 4 Golden for PS Vita and PC, is considered a milestone in the evolution of the social formula that defines the saga. The possibility of a remake has become a hot topic, and the recent statement by Yuri Lowenthal, voice actor of Yosuke Hanamura, has acted as an indirect confirmation. In a deleted post on BlueSky, Lowenthal commented: “I will not return as Yosuke for the Persona 4 remake,” which fuels speculation about the existence of the project.
Although Atlus has not yet made an official announcement about the remake, the fan community is eagerly awaiting news. Lowenthal, also known for his role as the voice of Peter Parker in Insomniac Games’ Spider-Man games, has sparked discussions about the direction the game will take if confirmed. It is suggested that the company may also be working on Persona 6, although remakes of Persona 1 and 2 are not currently in development, according to statements from the series producer.
In an interview with GameSpot, it was indicated that, although remakes of the early titles in the saga are not on the agenda for the moment, there could be possibilities in the future. Thus, the upcoming projects anticipated on the horizon are the mobile game Persona 5 X, the remake of Persona 4, and the highly anticipated installment of Persona 6, all scheduled for the near future.
