Last Sunday, June 7, the Xbox Games Showcase took place where some of the most important titles that we will see for the rest of 2026 and in 2027 were announced. Among these was one of the most anticipated games by fans of Japanese role-playing, and although it was known to be in development, it was not officially known yet. And now, at last, Persona 6 has been announced.
Announced almost 10 years after the release of its previous installment, Persona 5, the game has been announced with a brief teaser that has only provided us with a logo, the color of the installment (green), and the consoles it will be released on: PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. Additionally, it will be available on Xbox Game Pass at launch. Apart from this, no new information about the game has been directly provided, which remains shrouded in complete mystery.
A game with more details than it seems
Except for the fact that the Xbox Store page for Persona 6 offers some new details about the game. In addition to the classic aspects of the Persona saga, such as the returning social links and the school setting, the game will feature “strange rumors, unsettling urban legends, and hidden incidents that only you and your closest allies can face.” This seems to bring it closer to the style of Persona 2: Innocent Sin, rather than the last two installments of the franchise.
Although there is no release date, the game has already been announced. But Atlus will still have to release its next game, also featured at this event: Persona 4 Revival, scheduled for February 18, 2027. So, at least, it seems that we will still have to wait until well into 2027 to see a new Persona.
