Netflix has confirmed that Tales from ’85 has been renewed for a second season, where new adventures in Hawkins will be explored. The plot will focus on Nikki Baxter, the punk daughter of a substitute teacher, who remains in the series as a central character, promising a unique development in her story and her connection to the legacy of Hawkins.
Eric Robles, the showrunner, has compared Tales from ’85 to the successful Star Wars: The Clone Wars, highlighting the series’ potential to expand the narrative of the Stranger Things universe.
In this new installment, the focus will shift to the origins of Hawkins, providing more context about the mysteries that have surrounded the series since its inception. Robles has mentioned that the season will explore the history of Hawkins and its significance for the characters, which could answer fundamental questions about the reasons behind the strange events in this small town in Indiana.
During the season, the Hawkins Investigators Club will venture into the past, revealing the untold story that could change the general perception of the series. The creatives behind Tales from ’85 are optimistic about the success it could have had at the beginning, similar to that of Clone Wars, as fans might find in these stories a new sense of the Stranger Things universe.
