Few genres are as conducive to creating cult experiences as horror. There are very obvious reasons why. The mystery, the sensation of the forbidden, the brevity and the ease with which all of the above can be shared, give it that status with simplicity. Hence the multitude of games in this genre that achieve this title. And that, in many cases, we end up burying in semi-oblivion.
That is the case of Bendy and the Ink Machine. A horror game developed by Joey Drew Studios, released in episodic format for PC in 2017 and for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch a year later. Although it may now seem very old-fashioned, at the time it was very popular and became a viral phenomenon. So much so, that it should not surprise us that it has just been announced that Bendy and the Ink Machine will have its own movie.
Recently, in a tweet on Bendy’s official profile, they uploaded an image that said “Bendy is coming to the big screen”. Something to which the franchise creator, Paul Crawford, added that “we are super committed to making the Bendy movie have quality, be exciting and scary, honoring the world of Bendy as much as possible. It must be done well and with care”.
Although we don’t know many details about the movie, we already know some. The production company in charge will be Radar Pictures, who are responsible for franchises like Jumanji and Ridick, as well as popular recent series like The Wheel of Time.
If you are eagerly waiting to see it because you have always been a Bendy fan, we regret to inform you that we have no release date yet and it doesn’t seem like it will have one soon. However, it is expected that in the coming months the first information about the movie will be released and, hopefully, the release date.
