Film critic Scott Menzel on Xhas stated about the movie that “it stands alongside the first three films, offering a perfect blend of humor, heart, and that unique Pixar magic”. The host of The Movie Podcast, also on X, has said about the movie that it is a “generationally defining experience,” being “the story we need right now.”
Toy Story 5 promises to be one of the highest-grossing films of the year
This is something that Collider’s editor, Meredith Loftus, has emphasized by stating that the film “explores the divide between technology and toys through Jessie resulting in a tremendously emotional and deep story that made me break down in tears”. Something that, in fact, is not exactly a surprise. Because director Andrew Stanton has previously stated that the idea behind this film was to play with the existing tension between technology and toys in today’s childhood.
