Judging by the trailer, game fans have a lot to be happy about, and the signing of Walton Goggins (Justified and The Hateful Eight) as the Ghoul gunslinger has been a stroke of genius.
What do we know about the series and why does it look so good
The first Fallout RPG was released in 1997, followed by several sequels and spinoffs. According to the game’s story, modern civilization is destroyed in 2077 by a global nuclear war between the US and China, and the survivors live in various underground shelters.
The series was announced in July 2020, with Westworld writers Jonathan Nolan and Lisa Joy as executive producers. In January 2022, it was revealed that Nolan would direct the first three episodes, but that two other writers would be the showrunners. Todd Howard, who directed several games in the franchise, is also an executive producer and has stated that the series is not an adaptation of any particular game, but rather takes place within the universe.
In addition to Goggins, Ella Purnell plays a young Vault dweller named Lucy, who must venture into the Wasteland on a mission to save her community in Vault 33.
The series will premiere on April 11th on Amazon Prime Video and all episodes will be available, Netflix-style. This series could be a game-changer for Amazon.
