The live action of One Piece achieves an incredible record on Netflix that ensures its continuity

By now it is more than clear that One Piece, the live action of the manga created by Eiichirō Oda, has been a great success. The series was renewed for a second season shortly after its premiere, something quite unusual on Netflix lately. And now some data has just been revealed that makes clear the reason for this rush.

As reported by the official Netflix website, One Piece was the most-watched series on the platform in the second half of 2023. This means that it had better numbers than other great fictions on the platform such as Lupin, The Witcher, Erin Carter, or even the reality show Squid Game.

An (almost) unprecedented success

In total, One Piece accumulated more than 54 million hours viewed by over 7 million viewers. Unusual numbers that make it clear that it is becoming a cash cow for Netflix. Let’s hope this continues for many more seasons, although everything will depend on future data.
