There are few events in the world of MMOs that are more exciting than a new expansion of World of Warcraft. The next one is called The War Within and although it doesn’t have a release date yet, we know it will come out during this 2024. But just because it doesn’t have a release date doesn’t mean we can’t try it. Because Blizzard has opened the possibility for interested players to have a first look before anyone else.
Blizzard has announced that The War Within will have a beta testing phase before its release. If you are interested, you just have to register on their website to get the opportunity to be part of those beta testers. However, you will need to be patient. Blizzard has confirmed that they will be regularly sending out new invitations as the testing period progresses, so even if you don’t get in during the first wave of invitations, that doesn’t mean all hope is lost.
If you receive the invitation, it won’t be as simple as downloading the expansion and starting to play. Blizzard has confirmed a series of steps that you will have to follow to start beta testing The World Within. Very simple steps, and in any case, it should be what you always do when a new expansion of the game comes out.
One of the reasons why The War Within generates so much excitement is that it is part of a trilogy of World of Warcraft expansions that will tell a joint story. Named the Soul of the World Saga, it will consist of The War Within, Midnight, and The Last Titan. While it is true that not many details have been revealed about the trilogy, we do know that in The War Within we will explore the underground realms of Khaz Algar. There we will encounter two new races: the ancient Earth Dwarves and the terrifying Neribians of Azj-Kahet.
The Alma del Mundo Saga is not all that is coming this year for World of Warcraft. Last year, Blizzards shared a roadmap of everything that is coming for the game, showing a year full of new content. Something they confirmed by stating their intention to release expansions more regularly, with less waiting time for them. Something that makes us suspect, along with the opening of this beta, that The War Within may be much closer than we suspect.
