Movies and (especially) series about villains have become fashionable in recent years, but in general, there is a trend to make them more accessible to the audience by turning them into antiheroes or people who simply aren’t as bad as they seem. However, The Penguin has broken with that trend in a sublime way in its finale.

Instead of whitewashing the image of someone like The Penguin, a classic Batman villain who has never exactly been a good guy, they have naturalized him and brought him to reality without losing his malevolent essence. Goodbye to the most beloved character of The Penguin
In the last episode of the first season, The Penguin has shown that what it wants is precisely to enhance the figure of a villain like the Penguin. And it has done so by attacking where it hurts the most for the audience: causing the protagonist to end the life of Victor Aguilar, the character played by Rhenzy Feliz who, in reality, was the only good person in the show.
Throughout the entire series, Aguilar has been the shadowy assistant to the Penguin: the only one who knew all his plans and who bailed the mobster out of trouble. On some occasions, in fact, he had the opportunity to flee… but he decided to stay by his side in an act of unparalleled loyalty.
However, at the end of the series, it has become more than clear that the Penguin is not someone who can have loyal relationships with anyone. He is an egotist who only thinks of himself, and if Vic was his weak point… he had to get rid of him as soon as possible. A tragic act that clearly defines the character and opens a very clear path to the sequel of Reeves’ first movie.
