However, despite it likely being a box office success, critics have not liked it at all. It debuted on Rotten Tomatoes with 38% positive reviews, and the comments are far from flattering.
Another absurdity in Sony’s catalog
This is what the critics have said about Venom: The Last Dance:
“It’s too stupid to achieve the emotional weight it clearly wants to reach” —Peter Gray, The Au Review
“Tom Hardy’s unhinged performance remains the bright spot of the franchise. The rest? Leaves much to be desired for an ending, including Knull” —Fico Cangiano, CineXpress

“Everything looks and sounds the same in this popcorn pastime. It’s passable, but the creature designs seem too familiar, while the frenetic action scenes feature a cut approximately every second, which is too harsh for the viewer” —Jim Schembri
“A stupid, exhausting, and tedious disaster, with a choppy editing and not enough laughs or thrills” – Avi Offer, NYC Movie Guru
“An overloaded but somehow surprisingly simplistic film, which seems more like an excuse to execute stupid but fun ideas” – Anthony O’Connor, Filmink
“I was waiting throughout the entire movie for the surprisingly lifeless The Last Dance to set aside its world-saving plot (and its CGI special effects) and focus more on its most powerful effect: Hardy’s dual personality” – Jake Coyle, AP News
