The Monsterverse has become one of the most successful franchises in recent years. Films like Kong: Skull Island or Godzilla: King of the Monsters are already classics of monster cinema, and everything took on an even greater dimension thanks to the last two crossovers of Godzilla and King Kong.
These two movies were both directed by Adam Wingard, and after the success of both, his return was expected to culminate his monstrous trilogy. However, this is not going to happen. As reported by Screen Rant, the director has amicably parted ways with Legendary, as he intends to return to independent action and horror cinema.

Goodbye to Adam Wingard
In this way, although fans of the Monsterverse have praised Wingard’s work, the franchise will continue without him. There is still no confirmed new director for the next crossover between these two great monsters (and company), but the screenwriter has already been confirmed: David Callaham, who wrote the 2014 Godzilla.
