The highly anticipated release of Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is scheduled for April 1, 2026, and the excitement among Mario and Nintendo fans has never been higher following the success of the previous animated film. Recently, a new trailer has been released that has further heightened the excitement, revealing the confirmed appearance of Yoshi, one of the most beloved characters in the franchise. This endearing dinosaur not only retains his charismatic personality but also appears with an adorable look that promises to steal the spotlight in this new adventure.
Here is Yoshi!
The trailer shows Yoshi in various comedic and endearing scenes, where he interacts with iconic characters and faces classic enemies like Lakitu. This revelation did not come as a total surprise, as there had been speculation for months about his participation, fueled by previous leaks and rumors, as well as by the post-credits scene of Super Mario Bros.: The Movie.
However, Yoshi is not the only character that will appear in this film. Princess Peach will also be present, starring in an intense battle against Birdo, one of the antagonists from Super Mario Bros. 2, which promises to add excitement and dynamism to the plot. Additionally, Mouser, a classic boss from the saga, has been spotted, suggesting a comprehensive gathering of characters that have left a mark on Mario’s legacy.
Another highlight from the trailer features Yoshi wielding a Super Nintendo Scope to protect Baby Mario and Baby Luigi from a giant T-Rex, similar to the one we found in Super Mario Odyssey. With a mix of humor, action, and an enriching selection of recognizable characters, Super Mario Galaxy: The Movie is set to be a milestone in animation cinema based on video games.
