The crazy animation universe created by Seth Rogen in 2016 is back with a series titled Sausage Party: Fruitopia. This production, which promises to be even more extensive and over-the-top than the original, will consist of a total of eight episodes and will premiere on Prime Video on July 11, with a full series release.
Sausage Party: Frutopia is based on the successful 2016 film of the same name. In this series, the voices of the original actors return, starring Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, David Krumholtz, and Edward Norton. New additions like Will Forte and Sam Richardson will join them, solidifying their place in a story that’ll continue to grow, though perhaps it never should’ve seen the light of day!
The Sausage Party is back… for better or for worse
The plot of Sausage Party: Fruitopia follows the food characters as they try to create their own world. However, they will have to face an unexpected problem: rain. To survive, they’ll have to ally with their mortal enemies, the humans, and make unique agreements that have nothing to do with the first movie.
The original film, known for its bathroom humor and provocative scenes, set a new standard in adult animation; now, the series continues to follow that path. The narrative, on the other hand, remains true to the established style: shameless humor and scandalous situations. Produced and directed by Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter, who co-wrote the original film with Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the series promises to be an even crazier new venture than the previous one. Conrad Vernon, co-director of the film, directs some of the episodes.
