The game Sand: Raiders of Sophie, an extraction shooter PvPvE that allows players to build and operate huge mechanical bases on a desert planet, will not be released in March as originally planned. Hologryph, the developer of the title, announced this delay in a statement recently published on Steam, citing complications due to the difficult situation in Ukraine.
A Game Torn by War
According to the Hologryph team, the constant power outages and air alerts have negatively impacted the game’s development process, leaving it in a state that does not meet their expectations for release. “We appreciate that this is not the news you wanted to hear, but we assure you that this delay is in the interest of providing the best possible SAND experience at launch,” said the team.
Despite the frustration this situation may cause fans, the developer has revealed that there are still various features that require attention before Sand: Raiders of Sophie is ready to hit the market. These include improving PvE enemies, server physics, overall performance, anti-cheat systems, and an expanded arsenal. Additionally, Hologryph plans to use the extra time to implement features based on feedback gathered during playtesting.
For the moment, no new release date has been announced, although the developer has promised to provide an update on the development progress in the near future. A server test event will also be scheduled, which could give players an opportunity to experience some of the new features being implemented before the official release.
