In a move that seems to have both sustainability and budget efficiency in mind, Lenovo has introduced its Lenovo Certified Refurbished program, which will focus on the sale of refurbished PCs and other hardware.

Denmark, France, Germany, and the United Kingdom will be some of the first countries to have this new option, but the Hong Kong giant has referred to a future global implementation.
Lenovo enters the refurbished market
Lenovo cites its own study, according to which 62% of chief information officers consider it difficult for their organization to achieve sustainability goals.
By offering refurbished devices, Lenovo will not only provide companies with a more cost-effective way to acquire hardware, but will also help them achieve their sustainability goals, aligning with the circular economy to reduce electronic waste.
The devices for sale through the company’s new refurbishment store will undergo a thorough data cleaning, which suggests that key components such as storage and memory will be thoroughly cleaned instead of being replaced.
Among other guarantees, Lenovo will sell its refurbished devices with a minimum of three years warranty, the same years as a new device. Let’s see if this initiative works, which seems like a very logical step in a time of unjustified waste.
