Here’s why you should not use fast travel between planets in Starfield

Starfield allows players to explore the entire galaxy, so it’s no surprise that the game includes a fast travel feature to speed up travel between planets.
However, fans have warned that you could miss out on Starfield’s “best” moments if you rely too much on fast travel.
Starfield is Bethesda’s biggest role-playing game to date, immersing explorers in a galaxy full of secrets. There are over 1,000 planets to discover, plenty of quests to complete and even multiple factions to join.
With so much to see and do, players will often find themselves traveling from place to place. Luckily, Starfield features a fast travel system that allows you to teleport between planets and skip the (very annoying) space travel in between.
Fast travel can spoil the gaming experience
In a Reddit post, one player gave this advice to those just starting their Starfield journey: “Don’t use fast travel to teleport from planet to planet.”
“Yes it’s more comfortable,” the user said, “but you’ll be missing out on what makes Bethesda’s game unique: traveling through space and throwing yourself into adventure.”
“This allows for all the random encounters to happen in space, and honestly, some of the best things I’ve experienced in the game have been thanks to this change in play style,” the user finishes.
Many other Starfield fans supported this style of gameplay, arguing that it adds an extra layer to the game that some players might miss.

Others even shared a handful of their random encounters, explaining that they are some of the most memorable interactions they’ve had so far.
Based on these stories, it seems that if you want to experience all that Starfield has to offer, fans should consider avoiding the fast travel system whenever possible.
In my experience, after 10+ hours of gameplay, fast travel makes my life easier, as Starfield’s excruciating loading screen system makes going out into space a real pain.
