Stanley Kubrick was an American film director, producer and screenwriter born in New York in 1928 and died 70 years later in 1999 in England.
Kubrick is considered one of the most influential and important filmmakers of the 20th century for his innovative film technique, distinctive visual style and ability to explore deep and complex themes in his films.
Kubrick began his career in the 1950s, directing films such as “Kiss of the Assassin” (1955) and “Paths of Glory” (1957). However, his fame came with “2001: A Space Odyssey” (1968), a science fiction masterpiece that has been considered one of the most influential films in the history of cinema.
Kubrick continued to make notable films throughout the 1970s and 1980s, including “A Clockwork Orange” (1971), a controversial film exploring themes of violence and free will, and “The Shining” (1980), a horror film based on the novel by Stephen King.
Kubrick died on March 7, 1999 at the age of 70 due to a heart attack. Since then we can only enjoy his films on HBO Max and appreciate his art.
