The era of musical biopics is far from over. After the success of Bohemian Rhapsody, which earned Rami Malek an Oscar for Best Actor, studios got to work to repeat the formula with proposals like Rocketman, Elvis, Back to Black, and I Wanna Dance with Somebody. It appears that more similar projects are moving forward, despite the fact that most of these films have failed at the box office.
The next movie we will see in theaters, or at least the most anticipated one, is A Complete Unknown. This time, the protagonist of the biopic will be none other than Bob Dylan, someone who has already been portrayed on several occasions, but not in this same way. The protagonist is, of course, Timothée Chalamet, and the trailer already warns that it will have everything to compete in the Oscars:
A young and rebellious vision of Bob Dylan
Directed by James Mangold (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, Logan, Ford v Ferrari) and starring Elle Fanning and Edward Norton, A Complete Unknown will seek to portray Dylan’s life in a close and direct way, as he gets lost in 1960s New York. The film is scheduled to be released in December of this year.
