Limited Run Games has announced that the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will no longer be available for purchase on digital platforms starting March 31, 2026. In a statement published on Steam, the company clarified that players who have already purchased the collection will be able to re-download and play the titles whenever they wish.
Digital rights expire quickly
The company, known for its limited physical editions of indie and retro video games, is also venturing into the digital realm. However, the collection in question, while nostalgic for many, is not considered essential, as the quality of the titles varies significantly. Among the memories it evokes is the game for SNES and the soundtrack of the NES title, which, despite being mediocre, is fondly remembered by some players.
According to Limited Run Games, this advance notice aims to keep fans informed about changes in the availability of their games. “We learned in the past how important it is to provide notifications with enough advance notice, so we are committed to being transparent,” the company commented. Players interested in acquiring the collection have until March 2026 to do so, where it is still priced at 30 dollars on most platforms.
After the delisting deadline, the only way to get the Jurassic Park Classic Games Collection will be through physical versions or by searching for original copies for older consoles. The retro gaming community will be forced to participate in the hunt for titles on sites like eBay, raising concerns about the preservation of such works in the future.
