Volvo is preparing to revolutionize the automotive market with the presentation of its new electric sedan, the ES90, scheduled for March 5, 2025.
Considered one of the most technically advanced vehicles, the ES90 promises to set a new standard in the automotive industry.
One of the most notable features of the ES90 is its computer system, which includes two powerful NVIDIA Drive AGX Orin computers.
A car of the future to conquer 2025
This extraordinary hardware provides a processing capacity of around 508 trillion operations per second, marking a significant advancement compared to the most powerful model of PlayStation, the PS5 Pro, which offers only 16.7 trillion operations.
The new sedan is designed to be a vehicle truly defined by software, thanks to Volvo’s Superset platform, which will allow it to receive regular over-the-air (OTA) updates. These updates will not only enhance the vehicle’s functionality but will also be aligned with modern digital infrastructure, providing a more efficient and secure user experience.
The ES90 also incorporates cutting-edge safety technologies, such as the “Safe Space Technology” system, which detects and avoids obstacles on the road, including other vehicles and pedestrians. Equipped with an advanced array of sensors, including lidar, cameras, and radars, the vehicle positions itself as an outstanding option in terms of driver assistance.
Visually, the ES90 features a design that resembles the hybrid sedan S90, but with a more modern touch, including stylistic elements from the EX90 SUV, such as upright taillights. Additionally, Volvo plans to update its existing EX90 model with the same NVIDIA computers, ensuring that its customers can benefit from the latest technological innovations.
