First, we had its cover and now, its release date. EA Sports College Football 25 lands on July 19th for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X, over a decade after its last installment.
This new edition features several important features and novelties that both original fans and new players will enjoy. For now, we know that the game will include all 134 teams from the Football Bowl Subdivision. According to gamesradar, some newly added teams like James Madison Dukes and Jacksonville State Gamecocks will be playable for the first time in an EA title.
Unlike previous versions and other games like Madden NFL, College Football 25 will have a more complex recruitment mechanic, where players can be scouted from high school.
However, College Football 25 will not include NCFAA awards due to conflicts with the rights. In response, EA has created its own fictional awards to make up for this lack. Fortunately, we will still have the Heisman Trophy, as it is administered by another organization.
On the other hand, the game will feature the presence of over 10,000 real players. Those who choose not to participate will be replaced by generic characters.
One of the most interesting changes we see in the cover of College Football 25. And it is that for the first time, active players are represented. The NCAA rules had long prohibited college athletes from benefiting financially from their image. However, after a series of legal battles in the United States, the organization and its members had to change their policies in this regard.
