It is one of the most macarras series of the current scene and one of the jewels of Amazon Prime Video. So it is not surprising that Jeff Bezos’ team wants to continue exploring The Boys universe.
The teaser is immediately recognizable as a series that exists within The Boys universe. Why? Because of its penchant for hyperviolence, sex, profanity and numerous nods and cameos to the Prime Video franchise.
A spin-off as wild as the original series
Gen V is the second spin-off series from Amazon’s adaptation of The Boys graphic novels. The first, The Boys Presents: Diabolical, was an animated anthology series revolving around the events of this satirical superhero-based universe.
Gen V, however, forges closer ties to the main series of The Boys. For one thing, there is the statue of Homelander that occupies a place of honor outside Godolkin University, the main location of Gen V.
In addition, there are cameos from some of the actors from The Boys, such as Victoria Neuman (Claudia Doumit), Ashley Barrett (Colby Minifie) and Adam Bourke (P.J Byrne). A-Train (Jessie T Usher), a member of the world’s most popular superhero team called The Seven, will also make an appearance.
But Gen V will not focus on characters we have previously seen in The Boys. The series will introduce a new group of super-powered college students with ambitions to become the next generation of heroes of The Seven.

According to The Boys’ official Twitter account, Gen V takes place between season 3 and season 4 of The Boys. With no confirmed premiere date for the latter, it is possible that Gen V will set up key plot points for the next installment of the main series.
