Netherrealm has confirmed that crossplay will be coming to Mortal Kombat 1 in its next patch next week. The studio will provide more details about this addition early next week, as it is a very important step for a game that has lost too many players.

Dubbed “Krossplay” (a classic wordplay in this saga), players will be able to play with each other regardless of the platform they are playing on, including PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC for both Steam and Epic Games Store.

Unfortunately, it seems that Nintendo Switch will not receive the crossplay feature in the next update, something we could imagine due to the unstable network of Nintendo Switch and the game runs on a lower version (compared to the rest of platforms).

Netherrealm has continued to release updates for Mortal Kombat 1 since its launch back in September 2023 and confirmed that Krossplay would arrive in early 2024.

One of the most notable features that has already been added is compatibility with the WiFi filter. This allows players to reject matches based on their opponent’s internet connection. For example, someone using a wired connection can choose not to play against someone using a wireless connection.

The latest downloadable character from Mortal Kombat 1, Peacemaker, will arrive today, February 28th, for those who purchased Kombat Pack 1 and its early access. Everyone else will be able to acquire Peacemaker in a week, shortly after.

A new trailer for the Peacemaker game has recently been released, showcasing its jetpack-powered fatality and a Janet Cage-style Kameo. Playing as John Cena is going to be amazing, to be honest.
