This year we will witness in cinemas a final apotheosis that promises to culminate the career of Francis Ford Coppola. The director of The Godfather and Apocalypse Now reached the top in the seventies, and since then he has had a somewhat irregular but full of surprises career that has captivated the audience from beginning to end.
Now, he has finally managed to lift his most difficult project: Megalopolis. The film that has taken him decades to accomplish has finally found a distributor and, after premiering at the Cannes Film Festival —without good reviews but with surprising reviews, it must be said— this science fiction film has already found a release date to be premiered worldwide. It will arrive before the end of the year, so you can start preparing for this experience.

Megalopolis finally finds distribution and will have a premiere it deserves
As reported by Discussing Film, Megalopolis will arrive in theaters on September 27th, distributed by Lionsgate. Additionally, the film will be available in IMAX theaters, thus exploiting the great potential of this movie in which Coppola seems to have given his all before retiring from directing.
“Francis is a legend. For many of us, his gifts to cinema were an inspiration when dedicating our own lives to film,” explained Adam Fogelson, president of Lionsgate, about the distribution of Megalopolis. “It is a true privilege to work with him and bring this incredible, bold, and absolutely unique film to the theater audience. At Lionsgate, we strive to be a home for bold individuals and daring artists, and Megalopolis demonstrates that there is no one bolder or more daring than the master, Francis Ford Coppola”.
