We already know who’ll be taking the reins of Marvel’s new series… And fans haven’t liked it at all

No one can make sense of Marvel’s television division. On the one hand they’re pulling down the shutters for good on Daredevil: Born Again and Wonder Man (despite its star’s Emmy nomination) and on the other they’re greenlighting a new series, Marvel’s Zodiac, which, supposedly, will have a completely new cast and won’t have anything to do with any other series or film from the studio. The problem is who they’ve put in charge of the whole thing.

Agents of M.E.H.

Although at first it was said that the series could be a kind of sequel to Agents of SHIELD, it seems that in the end it’ll go its own way, something that in itself has already gone down badly with fans, because its premise is, of course, similar: spies hunting targets with special abilities. And Amit Cohen and Ron Leshem will be in charge. Their names may not ring a bell, but what they’ve done will.

Leshem is the creator of Euphoria. No, not the American version but the original one, created in Israel and which barely lasted 10 episodes. Its creator has since made several war series told from the Israeli point of view and, understandably, this has annoyed a great many Marvel fans who weren’t expecting them to cancel their favorite series to get, even unintentionally, caught up in a political controversy on this scale. No, he’s not just “another showrunner”.

With any luck, by the time the series premieres, Marvel will have corrected some of its mistakes and we’ll be able to focus on smaller things like the possible return of Clark Gregg as Agent Coulson after he shared the show’s announcement on his Instagram Stories. If only life were that simple.
