This year’s Ubisoft Forward looks quite interesting, indeed. It seems that we might be in for a surprise with Assassin’s Creed Red, which according to rumors, will be officially unveiled this year.
Assassin’s Creed: Codename Red aims to be the next game that would succeed Assassin’s Creed Mirage, released in 2023. The secrecy surrounding Red has made us have very little information about it, except for some data. In fact, Red is just its codename.
For now, everything indicates that Red would be set in Japan, a country that fans of the saga have been asking for for years. Like Valhalla, Origins, and Odyssey, Red would have a large open world and would allow us to explore the Japanese country, although we do not know which regions or cities would be available.

According to what we can read on Insider Gaming, the next installment of Assassin’s Creed would have two different protagonists, a samurai named Yasuke and an assassin named Naoe. Alongside Red, we will also have the release of Assassin’s Creed Infinity, the new central hub for everything related to the saga.
In Infinity is where the story “set in our days” would take place. The saga will also feature a new engine, Anvil Pipeline. This would allow for a more smooth development between games and visually benefit the series. The change has also caused everything to be redesigned, including animations, weather, parkour mechanics, and much more.
On the other hand, we have Assassin’s Creed Hexe, the next big installment of the saga. Its release is expected for 2026 and according to Insider Gaming, it would feature a single female protagonist, Elsa. She would be the first solo female protagonist since Assassin’s Creed Chronicles, which was released in 2015.
