While WhatsApp updates are constant and usually include quite notable features, Status updates are usually the least priority for both users and the company itself, which in past updates included them within the News tab. Now, this WhatsApp tab has undergone a makeover that will try to catch the attention of its users.
According to the guys at WABetaInfo (the first ones to report on all the news in WhatsApp), the beta version of WhatsApp for Android now includes a redesigned layout for the Updates tab, where users can see the statuses of their contacts (it’s completely normal and logical that you didn’t know about it).
The new look of News would feature WhatsApp statuses that you haven’t seen with larger thumbnails at the top of the tab, with a preview of the first one. Below, less prominence would be given to the usernames of each status.
Thanks to this new design, it will be easier for you to catch up on everything you haven’t seen yet and browse through the available statuses on WhatsApp without necessarily having to open them, which is very useful if you have many friends and family members who constantly post updates.
