Created by Dan Erickson, the plot follows a group of employees from Lumon Industries who have undergone a procedure called “severance” that separates their work memories from their personal memories. The employees cannot remember anything from their personal lives while at work, and vice versa. In this context, Mark Scout (Adam Scott) begins to discover that the line separating these two worlds is thinner than he believes, and that some take advantage of this separation to plot schemes that go beyond his understanding.
Undoubtedly, the series presents a unique and provocative storyline that we rarely see on television, exploring themes such as the current separation between work and personal life. The intrigue is fascinating from beginning to end, full of iconic twists and with characters of fascinating development.
In addition, it has a fun and pleasant tone that moves away from the “high science fiction” that Apple TV+ is known for, making the series much more accessible to all audiences. It is clear that it is a unique combination for a series that is increasingly conquering a larger number of viewers.
