The fourth season of Ted Lasso brings us back to Richmond, and it does so in a big way. With two episodes already released, this fourth installment of the adventures of the famous Greyhounds coach is really interesting. And here, the question inevitably comes up: will it be the last? Will there be more Ted Lasso after season 4? Officially nothing has been confirmed, but all signs point to Apple planning a bigger future for the series, according to what Eddy Cue has said.
Eddy Cue tells us there are more stories to tell
On the red carpet for the premiere of the fourth season of Ted Lasso, ScreenRant spoke with Apple’s head of Services. Cue said that he is looking forward to this season and added that there are “many stories left to tell” and that Apple “will be there.” That’s a major statement from one of Apple TV’s top executives.
Officially we don’t have any confirmation, but we do have some clues to keep in mind. The biggest clue is that this fourth season begins a new narrative arc by introducing a new team, refreshing the cast while keeping the core players, and resetting the premise. We’re in a lower division, with the new women’s team, and there’s plenty of room for the characters and storylines to develop, along with a few surprises.
As Deadline reported a little over a year ago, the cast signed deals covering three seasons, which fits directly with a possible new three-season arc.
Ted Lasso went on to become Apple TV’s most-watched series, and this is one of Apple’s most recognizable shows. Cue’s words strongly suggest we could be following Ted for a long time to come.
