March 2025, and YouTube Music is standing out again for the same reason it has always had an edge: YouTube’s huge video catalog. The service goes far beyond albums and playlists. You also get official videos, live performances, remixes, covers, rare uploads, and the kind of fan and creator content you usually won’t find on Spotify, Apple Music, or similar services.
One feature still makes that mix feel especially smooth: YouTube Music’s audio-video switch. You can jump from a studio track straight to the video version without breaking the flow.
According to YouTube, YouTube Music and YouTube Premium had 125 million subscribers , including trials, as of March 2025. That also helps explain why the Premium bundle is doing so well, since you get ad-free video , offline viewing, and music in one package.
Google has also made YouTube Music available across Android, smart speakers, Google Assistant, cars, earbuds, and home devices.
The free ad-supported tier, paid subscriptions, Music Nights, Shorts integration, and stronger discovery tools all point to how big the service has become. So does the money: according to YouTube, more than $8 billion was paid to the music industry between July 2024 and June 2025. All of that shows YouTube Music is now central to streaming.
If you want songs, videos, fandom, and discovery in one place, YouTube Music is worth checking out.
You can get YouTube Music through the YouTube Music app or with YouTube Premium.
