As of early October 2026, user reports on Reddit and YouTube’s Community forums point to a YouTube web sign-in bug that’s stopping some people from logging in through a browser, even though those same Google accounts still work on other Google services.
The strange part, at least from the accounts posted by affected users, is that YouTube can still work in the YouTube mobile app and on TV apps. That suggests the problem is tied to YouTube’s website sign-in flow, not a full account lockout.
Posts on Reddit and YouTube’s Community forums say the failure seems tied to particular YouTube accounts. It shows up across browsers, across computers, and even in Incognito mode, while other accounts can log in on those same devices with no problem.
Some users say YouTube throws up the message “Our tubes must be clogged” when the sign-in attempt fails.
If you’ve already gone through the usual checklist, clearing cookies, switching browsers, trying private browsing, changing your password, or testing another computer, reports from those same users suggest none of that fixes it. So this doesn’t look like a simple browser-side problem.
User posts suggest the bug has been showing up for about two weeks as of early October 2026, and YouTube Community Diamond Product Experts say the issue has been escalated.
Google still hasn’t said how widespread the bug is, what’s causing it, whether it’s hitting certain regions more than others, or when a fix might arrive.
For now, if you need YouTube, the app is still the workaround.

His approach is practical — what a program actually does, what it asks in return and who it is for — which is why he distrusts feature lists and prefers to test.
