Genshin Impact has become one of the cornerstone pieces of HoYoverse, the leading company in the gacha world. However, it is not their only success. Honkai: Star Rail has already surpassed 100 million players. Now, the company is preparing for what will surely be their next big success, Zenless Zone Zero.
HoYoverse has announced that the highly anticipated ARPG will be released worldwide on July 4th at 10:00 (UTC +8) and simultaneously on PlayStation 5, PC, iOS, and Android. The company has also confirmed that the game will allow cross-progression and cross-play from day one. This means that even if you start your game on one platform, you can continue it on another without losing any progress.
The story takes place in Nueva Eridu, a futuristic city and the last bastion of humanity against the Voids, supernatural dimensional portals that have devastated much of the world. These Voids are filled with creatures known as Ethereals, which pose a constant threat to the survivors.
In Zenless Zone Zero, players take on the role of a Proxy, a guide who helps the Hollow Raiders explore and survive in these dangerous environments. The Hollow Raiders are characters who venture into the Void to collect resources and fight against the Ethereals. The game is distinguished by its dynamic and action-packed combat style, similar to what we can find in titles like Devil May Cry, for example.
Although the closed beta will conclude on May 28th at 23:59:59 (UTC +8), players can still pre-register through PlayStation Store, Google Play, App Store, and Epic Games Store. Those who do so will receive abundant rewards upon release, such as 20 Master Tapes and many more items. Master Tapes are used to make pulls in the promotional banners and thus, be able to obtain more special characters. According to the company, the game has already reached 35 million pre-registered users and is close to reaching 40 million.
