But when exactly does One Piece premiere on Netflix? We can announce that it will be on August 31st, but since it’s a simultaneous worldwide release, the timing varies depending on the country. Warner Bros. has released a new live-action trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 that recreates iconic scenes from the series’ first ad from 1993.

We’re eagerly looking forward to playing Mortal Kombat 1, the reboot of one of the most beloved and aged franchises in the industry. Fighting games wouldn’t be what they are today without those first bloody games from the 90s.

Warner Bros. has released a new live-action trailer for Mortal Kombat 1 that recreates iconic scenes from the series’ first announcement, Mortal Monday.

With just over two weeks left until the release of Mortal Kombat 1, the anticipation is at its peak. For fans of some of the best fighting games, it can be considered one of the most significant releases of the year.

The official live-action trailer gets straight to the point, with former professional wrestler and current movie star Dave Bautista hitting the streets, shouting those familiar words: “Mortal Kombat!”

The trailer runs for just under two minutes, approximately twice the length of the original Mortal Monday announcement from 30 years ago, in which the actor gathered people from all walks of life to participate in unison in the deadly fighting tournament.

Similar to the original trailer, the clip concludes with the crowds of people overtaken by the urge to become violent as chaos erupts in game footage.

It’s more than just a touch of nostalgia from the marketing team, as this new trailer seems to capture the essence of Mortal Kombat 1 perfectly when Bautista shouts to the crowd that it’s “a new era” and a “new beginning.”

The parallel between this upcoming installment and the first Mortal Kombat is reinforced by the fact that the latest entry in the long-running series is being released the same week as the original title, over three decades ago. It’s a battle cry for those who grew up with the original trilogy.

Ahsoka 1×03 Explores the Essence of Being a Padawan

“Ahsoka,” the most anticipated Star Wars series, premiered last week with a double episode. In it, we got to know the characters who will define this series, the politics surrounding them, the role of the villains, and the threat looming over the Republic in the form of Grand Admiral Thrawn. But these two episodes were only a prologue of what was to come, and the third episode has made that clear.

A week after learning everything about Ahsoka, Disney Plus has released the third episode of the Star Wars series. A third installment in which we finally get to see the dynamics of the series and that has served to continue exploring the two main characters of the story: Ahsoka Tano and Sabine Wren.

An Impressive Chase

The chapter picks up right where the previous one left off: with Ahsoka and Sabine, Jedi and Padawan in the most rebellious way possible, taking off in search of the lost map that pinpoints the location of Grand Admiral Thrawn. Their objective is twofold: stop the Sith enemies in their tracks and, simultaneously, locate Ezra Bridger, the protagonist of Star Wars: Rebels who vanished at the end of the series in a fierce battle with Thrawn.

However, it quickly becomes apparent that they will be on their own in this battle. From the Republic headquarters, Hera Syndulla appeals to the Senate for reinforcements for the mission of the two warriors. Nevertheless, her request is denied, making it clear that Thrawn isn’t considered a threat and accusing her of using Republic resources for a personal cause, such as searching for Ezra.

This leaves Ahsoka and Sabine in a difficult situation, but they don’t give up easily. Throughout the first part of the episode, we see Ahsoka training Sabine in Japanese kendo techniques that are later applied to lightsaber combat. However, despite Sabine being a skilled warrior, she still can’t fully grasp the Force, making that her main goal.

Finally, the two protagonists arrive at the planet they were searching for… and the real threat begins. Ahsoka and Sabine engage in a major space battle alongside their droid against Shin Hati and other enemies of the Republic. The pursuit turns out to be a great spectacle, and although the episode might feel somewhat slow, it eventually unfolds with a landing that makes it clear the series’ future will be even more dynamic and action-packed.

No official release date has been announced for “I Am Legend 2,” as the project is still in its early stages of development.

The sequel was officially announced for the first time in March 2022, and Akiva Goldsman would return to write the screenplay, having also written the script for the first movie.

Although updates about the film have been scarce, as the title seemed stuck in development hell, Deadline reported in February 2023 that the project was moving forward, with Goldsman’s production company, Weed Road, securing a first-look deal with Warner Bros. for the project.

“We’re starting with two projects that are fun and very Warner; the ‘I Am Legend’ sequel, with Will Smith and Michael B. Jordan, and the ‘Constantine’ sequel with Keanu Reeves that Francis Lawrence is going to direct,” explained Akiva Goldsman.

However, the zombie-filled epic has not yet found a director. The original director of “I Am Legend,” Francis Lawrence, has mentioned the possibility of returning to the post-apocalyptic world, but he has not yet signed on to direct the project.

Currently, with the ongoing writers and actors strike in Hollywood, the development of “I Am Legend 2” will have to be further delayed from what it already has been. Don’t expect to see it before 2025.

However, bad news has arisen for the fans: as announced by Studio Pierrot, the creators of the new Naruto series, these episodes will experience a significant delay and will no longer premiere in September, but rather at a later date. We don’t have the new release date yet, but they essentially need more time to work on the animations and make it appealing to everyone, so we could be looking at a delay until early 2024.

The mini-series has been indefinitely delayed, but what happened?

This new anime won’t follow the Boruto storyline, instead, it will focus once again on the childhood stage of Naruto, Sasuke, and Sakura in Team 7 alongside their sensei Kakashi. In this way, we’ll get to see an animated remake of the most iconic moments of the series across these four half-hour episodes.

Although the exact plot is unknown, we can infer that it will likely be streamed on Crunchyroll, the anime-specialized streaming platform that holds the rights to the original series internationally. However, after much thought and consideration, both HBO and the creators and producers have decided not to move forward with a second season. We are grateful to the creators, the cast, and the team for their incredible work.”

Although there were discussions about continuing the series with a second season, the truth is that the first season perfectly concludes the story it aims to tell. And despite not being overly attention-grabbing for the audience, it provides a logical closure to the narrative of Levinson and The Weeknd.
