Sunny Lab has revealed its upcoming project, The Witch’s Bakery, a 2D RPG that promises to captivate players with its aesthetic inspired by Studio Ghibli, specifically Kiki’s Delivery Service.
This charming game invites players to take on the role of Lunne, a baking witch who not only runs her own bakery but also works to heal the hearts of the residents of Paris through her baked goods.
The Witch’s Bakery takes place in a vibrant Parisian setting, where players must balance managing their shop with exploring the city.
Dare to try it: it will enchant you
Throughout the day, Lunne will go through different phases: first, she will attend to her customers in the bakery, then she will explore the streets of the French capital to interact with unique characters, and finally, she will have time to rest and improve her magical skills during the night. This dynamic gameplay promises to offer a comforting and immersive pace.
Since its launch on Kickstarter, The Witch’s Bakery has raised over 300,000 euros, demonstrating notable interest and strong support from the video game enthusiast community.
In a thank-you message, the Sunny Lab team expressed their gratitude to the backers, stating that “this journey has been incredible” and that they have received “the greatest gift of all: the opportunity to share the story they have always dreamed of telling.”
The release of The Witch’s Bakery is scheduled for 2026, and players can already add it to their wish lists on the PlayStation Store and Steam. With its hand-drawn visuals that evoke a retro feel, this title promises to be a delight not only for Studio Ghibli fans but also for those seeking a comforting and magical experience in video games.
