One of the most anticipated movies of 2024 is Gladiator 2. While last year Ridley Scott made it clear that he is in top form at 86 years old with Napoleon, this time he wants to raise the stakes with the sequel to the most successful movie in his history – yes, above Blade Runner and Alien. The filmmaker has made every effort in Gladiator 2, from the cast to some very spectacular action scenes that we can already see in its first trailer.
In the trailer, we see a bit of everything; from the epic battles in the coliseum, to the newly added aquatic battles with ships, to the eccentric personality of an emperor who, portrayed by Joseph Quinn, promises to match Joaquin Phoenix’s great performance in the original film. Undoubtedly, an epic film is coming:
The most epic battles ever filmed
After seeing the exclusive images of the movie the other day, which showed Paul Mescal at his best, we now have much more thanks to a trailer that promises tension and intelligence from the first minute to the end. In addition, in the trailer, we can take a closer look at Denzel Washington, who in Gladiator 2 will play a nobleman named Macrinus who will serve as a mentor to the gladiators, including the protagonist.
Gladiator 2 will be the 30th film in Ridley Scott’s entire career. Considering that the original Gladiator was his 12th film, it has certainly been enough time for him to dive back into this world that brought him so much joy at the time. We will see it in theaters on November 22… and it promises to be a success that will surpass the billion-dollar mark.
