Bob Lee’s Murder Case: Authorities Make Major Breakthrough with Arrest of Main Suspect

San Francisco police have announced the arrest of Nima Momeni, whom they consider to be the prime suspect in the stabbing of businessman Bob Lee.

We recently picked up on the murder of Bob Lee, the creator of Cash App, a popular mobile payment app available in the United States and the United Kingdom. Just a week later, San Francisco police have arrested what they believe to be the prime suspect in the stabbing that took the entrepreneur’s life.

According to BuzzFeed News, the arrested man’s name is Nima Momeni, he is 38 years old and was arrested by police at his home in Emeryville, a suburb located between Oakland and Berkeley. According to Bill Scott, the San Francisco police chief, Momeni, owner of a technology company called Expand IT, had previously known Lee.

“Our investigators have been working tirelessly to make this arrest and bring this case to justice for the Lee family, just as we would do with every homicide that occurs in this city,” the police chief said.

Momeni, who was arrested thanks to an extensive police investigation, would be charged with murder, with the aggravating factor of having killed a person using a knife, District Attorney Brooke Jenkins told reporters at a press conference. Jenkins also stated that he will be arraigned this Friday, and prosecutors intend to ask the judge to deny him bail.

San Francisco police found the body of 43-year-old Bob Lee at 2:35 a.m. on April 4. He was immediately transported to a nearby hospital due to stab wounds, but died shortly thereafter.

At the moment, Momeni’s motives for committing the murder are unknown. His company, Expand IT, has been providing IT and technology support services to other companies since 2010.
