Marvel Studios is slowly getting out of the mess it had gotten into in recent years with the Multiverse. After ending Phase 3 on a high note with ‘Avengers: Endgame,’ it started a chaotic Phase 4 that has led to a not-so-grateful Phase 5. Many fans have dropped off along the way, and now Kevin Feige has taken the reins again to try to balance this trajectory.
This year, for example, everything will depend on how Deadpool and Wolverine perform on the big screen —everything seems to indicate that it will be a hit—, but what will happen beyond this film? For now, we will see The Fantastic Four and Captain America 4. But then comes the big one: Avengers 5. The movie that can lift Marvel up again… or can make it fall completely.

Shawn Levy, main candidate to direct ‘Avengers 5’
This movie has changed a lot —a lot— during the last few years. However, they finally seem to have decided on a final script… and now they just need to confirm the main cast and the director behind the film. But according to Deadline, although unofficially, we already have many details to take into account. And they are as follows:
- It will include over 60 characters from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
- There won’t be team leaders as such, but it will focus on a more distributed cast, which may result in a new Avengers lineup by the end of the movie.
- Thor, Loki, Hulk, Doctor Strange, Nebula, and Shang-Chi are among the main characters.
- Michael Waldron has already delivered the shooting-ready script version.
- Production will begin in 2025.
- The main villain is still unknown.
- Shawn Levy is the studio’s favorite candidate to direct it.
- Marvel will meet with other directors while waiting for Levy to make a decision.
