According to a report, the launch will be an extremely complicated process, in which customers will only be able to purchase the augmented reality glasses through an appointment-based system.

The appointment-based system will ensure that the Apple Vision Pro is properly fitted for customers, along with any necessary prescription lenses.

As we mentioned before, the launch of the Apple Vision Pro will be similar to that of the Apple Watch, where customers had to make appointments to acquire the device.

Bloomberg reports that Apple intends to transform a portion of each of its retail stores in the US into dedicated booths that will serve customers to be among the first to try out the company’s mixed reality glasses.

Given the complexity of the product, the company simply cannot start stocking and selling hundreds of units. Instead, there will be a dedicated area to scan the user’s head and take proper measurements.

To simplify the measurement process, Apple is developing an app for the iPhone that will scan the user’s head before purchasing the device.

It is also mentioned that the Apple Vision Pro will be available for online purchase in early 2024, but there was no mention of a solution to the measurement issue, so it is likely that customers will need to already know these measurements before placing their order.
