OpenAI has added Scheduled Tasks to ChatGPT. The feature is live now on paid plans and lets people have ChatGPT watch websites in the background, track prices, and run recurring checks on its own.
OpenAI says the rollout starts in June 2026 across ChatGPT Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise. With Scheduled Tasks, you can set up a watch for product listings, flight prices, event tickets, hotel rates, preorder availability, company websites, or public announcement pages, then get an alert when something changes.
You can schedule a task for an exact time, or use looser windows like morning or afternoon. OpenAI also says there’s a new Scheduled page where tasks can be reviewed, edited, paused, or deleted after the original chat is already closed.
There are limits, though. Scheduled Tasks run no more than once an hour, OpenAI says, and unattended tasks can pause after they’ve been inactive for a while. So this isn’t built for real-time, second-by-second tracking.
The feature leans on ChatGPT’s browsing and memory tools, and it also picks up on the earlier Pulse idea. It lands at a time when OpenAI, Microsoft, and Google are all trying to turn AI assistants into something more useful in the background, not just tools that wait for a prompt and reply.
If you already use ChatGPT for shopping, travel planning, or the same routine checks you do online every week, this is a solid upgrade. Still, the privacy side matters here, especially when it comes to logging, training use, data storage, notifications, and GDPR compliance.
Scheduled Tasks is now available in ChatGPT for paid users, according to OpenAI.
