Diablo 4 is running a free Warlock trial from June 30 to July 7, 2026, but this isn’t Blizzard making the whole game free for a week. What they’re offering is access to the premium Warlock class from the Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred expansion for players who already own or can already play Diablo 4. The trial is live on PC through Battle.net, plus Xbox and PlayStation, and any Warlock character you make during it is capped at level 30.
So, no, this isn’t the unrestricted free download some early reports made it sound like. It’s a class trial, and it’s only for people who already have access to Diablo 4. Some players are already pointing to the level 30 cap as the main downside, since that’s right around the point where a Warlock build starts to click and you want to keep pushing it further. Still, if you’ve been wondering whether the Warlock is actually fun to play before spending money on Diablo 4: Lord of Hatred, this gives you a real hands-on test. Better yet, the progress and gear you pick up during the trial will carry over if you decide to buy the expansion afterward.
The timing isn’t random, either. The promotion lands alongside Diablo 4 Season 14, Season of Death Awakening, which also started on June 30. That season adds Pandemonium Ruptures, The Risen enemy family, a new seasonal boss, and changes to Mythic Unique items, so Blizzard is plainly putting the Warlock in front of as many returning Sanctuary players as it can. If you want to try it, the Diablo 4 Warlock trial is available now through Battle.net on PC, Xbox, and PlayStation.
