On the subject of aliens, few agree: some claim that celestial beings exist, others that they are nothing more than fairy tales. Elon Musk seems to lean towards the latter, as he says there is no evidence of it (and that he would not be able to keep it a secret if it were discovered).
The Twitter CEO and Tesla founder came clean on Fox News with Tucker Carlson and stated that there is no evidence (yet) that conscious life exists somewhere in space outside of planet Earth. “A lot of people wonder where aliens are and I think if anyone knew about aliens on Earth, it would probably be me,” Musk explained during the interview.
The tycoon claims to be very familiar with space matters (not surprising considering he is the founder of SpaceX) and at the moment, he has not seen any evidence confirming the existence of aliens. That said, if it were ever discovered, he would “tweet about it immediately. It would become the most important tweet of all time“.
While he would like to see aliens become a reality, Musk said he also does not believe the government is withholding information about their existence. Musk argued that the government itself would make aliens public enemy number one in order to increase military spending. For the tycoon, “the fastest way to get an increase in the defense budget would be to take out an extraterrestrial”.
For Musk, the real problem of humanity does not lie in the existence of aliens, but in the declining birth rate. “Humans, and not aliens, are the greatest threat to its own existence”. The truth is that he has a point: fewer and fewer babies are being born and the metrics continue to decline worldwide. Some countries like Italy have seen how since 2015, they have lost over a million inhabitants and these numbers don’t look like they will improve in the future.
For Elon Musk, “if civilization does not produce enough people to maintain our numbers, or perhaps to increase them a little, it is likely to eventually fall apart”. Do you agree with the Twiter CEO’s statement?
