Protests in the United States against what many consider a takeover of the government by Elon Musk are on the rise, also affecting Tesla vehicle owners.
In particular, a Tesla store in Seattle had to close its doors due to the large influx of protesters, highlighting the direct impact of these demonstrations on the company’s operations.
The mobilizations, which have gained strength in northern America, are starting to spread to Europe, where an increase in participation has also been observed compared to past demonstrations.
Protests Against Tesla Worldwide
During the weekend, larger protests were recorded than those held previously; for example, at the Tesla restaurant in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, approximately 200 people gathered.
However, the growing discontent towards Tesla has led to acts of vandalism, which have affected both the company and its owners. Tesla owners, especially those who own a Cybertruck, have reported incidents of hostility and vandalism, including damage to their vehicles and graffiti at charging stations.
In California, for example, there were reports of incidents where insulating foam was introduced into the charging connectors, temporarily disabling them. Tesla has stated that it will take legal action against these acts of vandalism.
The climate of tension and animosity towards Tesla owners has led to some road users expressing their discontent in a negative manner. As protests continue, it remains to be seen how this phenomenon will evolve, which has surprised by its extent and effectiveness.
Despite being mostly peaceful, the protests have sparked a negative response that affects not only the brand, but also its loyal customers.
