Don’t Miss Out on the AI Revolution: Microsoft’s Bing Chatbot is Open for Business and Changing the Game

Microsoft is allowing many users to try out its new Bing chatbot, without needing to sign up for the waiting list.

Were you waiting to try the new Bing chatbot? Well, we bring you good news: as The Verge has been able to verify firsthand, Microsoft would be giving many users access to its new Bing search engine without the need for a waiting list. In addition, the feature is already available in the stable versions of Microsoft Edge, at the top of its sidebar.

If you are not yet registered, clicking on the “Join the waiting list” option will automatically unlock the Microsoft chatbot. You can test this in the latest version of the Microsoft Edge browser, which already shows a Bing symbol at the top right, just above the sidebar, and also via Bing’s own website.

“During this preview period, we are conducting several tests that may speed up access to the new Bing for some users. We are still in the preview phase and you can sign up at Bing.com,” Caitlin Roul, Microsoft’s director of communications, responded to The Verge after contacting the company to confirm whether the waiting list has been removed entirely or is a bug.

Although at the moment the Bing chatbot is still in its preview phase and, theoretically, registration is required, you will most likely be able to use it now without any problems. At Softonic we have carried out several tests on different accounts and we have been able to access its functions just by clicking on the button to join the waiting list.

Good news comes just in the same week that it was announced that Bing’s chatbot has been using GPT-4 technology all this time, unbeknownst to us. Although we can’t benefit from some of the features of this new language model at the moment, such as reading images, Bing’s AI makes three types of response tone available to us for conversing with it.
