Google Messages will allow you to react to the messages you receive
Google is preparing news for its native SMS messaging application by adding the ability for users to react to messages by double tapping on the desired message. With this, Google plans to increase feedback for its service by adding a system that already exists in many instant messaging services.
Reactions to messages, something that services like WhatsApp, Telegram or Instagram already have, among other services, allows users to give direct feedback to their interlocutor without the need to write an explicit message. With this, users will have a different way to interact with other people through Google Messages.
As 9to5google advances, the possibility for users to interact with other people using reactions is currently being tested. These reactions will be activated by simply double tapping the screen of the mobile device. It is still unknown if this feature will be implemented, but for now, Google is considering adding it, which is why this feature is in beta phase, while deciding if it is a valuable addition to the service.
Google Messages is the native Android application that allows users to check and send SMS messages. It is not a widely used service, as the customization layers of different companies usually develop their own messaging applications. However, those who have mobile phones like the Pixel could have the possibility of having this improvement if Google finally implements it.
