Google updates the Pixel twice after creating connectivity issues in the first patch
Google, the well-known technology company that has countless business areas within the wide niche that this space has, has been forced to update the Pixel system twice after the first update, a security patch that was released this April, caused connectivity issues to users who updated their smartphone. With the second update, however, these problems apparently seem to be solved.
It may not be the most common thing within system updates, because nowadays they go through numerous controls and tests before being finally released to the community. However, there may be occasions when not so common failures are not detected until there are millions of users using that updated version.
As 9to5google has revealed, the Californian company has been forced to quickly release a new patch for the Pixel mobile software, as the latest security update, released this same April, caused phone coverage to fail, preventing normal call and message reception.
With this patch, this problem has been fixed, while also maintaining the security improvements that have been implemented in Google’s smartphone software. Thus, in this way, the Pixel will once again have a necessary update while other useful innovations are being developed for its operating system.
Reorganization of Pixel and other departments
Google is going through profound changes in recent times. In fact, the thousands of layoffs that the company carried out at the end of 2023 and the beginning of 2024 are still fresh in memory, admitting that, in the future, more layoffs could occur. Google has done all this in an attempt to maximize profits, even though the company was far from losing money, as it is one of the richest, most powerful, and influential technology companies in the world.
With these layoffs, in addition, numerous redesigns have been made in the organization of the company’s departments, which are very numerous as they currently have dozens of open commercial areas. In fact, the Pixel department, hardware, and others are being merged into a “super department” in which they want to encompass many products and services with the supposed objective of “streamlining internal bureaucracy” or “facilitating decision-making and creating synergies”, among some of the company’s top priorities.
