Rockstar Games has set August 27 for Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look, and this time the next GTA 6 reveal will show up on Netflix first, about six hours before it lands on Rockstar’s YouTube channel and official website.
Rockstar still hasn’t said what form this will take. Even so, the “Extended Look” label has people expecting more than a regular trailer, maybe even actual gameplay instead of another cinematic teaser. If you keep close tabs on GTA 6, this is one to watch. Rockstar almost never gives another platform an exclusive head start, and that alone makes the whole thing feel like a bigger event.
Netflix’s side of the deal is easy enough to understand. The company said it had more than 325 million paid subscribers at the end of 2025, and it’s already seen strong engagement with Grand Theft Auto on its gaming platform. Then there’s the size of the series itself: publisher Take-Two Interactive said by May 2026 the franchise had sold more than 470 million units, with Grand Theft Auto V getting close to 230 million copies and the series bringing in over $10.58 billion. Analysts also think Grand Theft Auto VI could move 35 to 40 million copies in its first year.
So if you want to see Grand Theft Auto VI: An Extended Look as early as possible, Netflix gets it first on August 27, ahead of the game’s scheduled November 19, 2026 launch. That’s happening while reactions are still mixed, and while some people are still wondering whether the game could slip into 2027.
