If approved by the FDA, your next thermometer will be this new mobile phone
The Pixel 8 Pro thermometer could soon measure human temperature as Google seeks FDA approval. This means that Google could…
For many, Google’s Pixel phone family is one of the most intriguing in the entire market. After all, they are the creators of the operating system, so there must be some advantage to becoming manufacturers.
Google talked about how this sensor can assist users in measuring the temperature of everyday objects’ surfaces, and Google’s implementation of this sensor looks very sleek as it doesn’t protrude at all.
To make things even more interesting, Google has designed a Thermometer app on the Pixel 8 Pro, and as the name suggests, it will allow users to measure temperature with ease.
Its most innovative feature lies in the FDA offices
“It can measure everything from foods, beverages, water, cast iron, ceramics, glass, and a bunch of other materials, but at the moment, the sensor and the app are not capable of detecting human body temperature.
Considering how the reading could be used from a medical standpoint, Google has decided to submit the Pixel 8 Pro’s Thermometer to the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
The application is currently under review, and once approved, the phone will be able to take readings from human skin, allowing for better tracking for all users.”
When it comes to using it on human skin, we’ll have to wait and see how the approval process goes and if the function is approved in regions other than the US. Ultimately, this feature could have medical applications, so it has to be a reliable tool.
Both the Pixel 8 Pro and the regular variant are undoubtedly the two most intriguing Android phones of this year’s end. Looking forward to trying them out.
